Monday Night RAW Recap:- 11/17/14
With the WWE crew back from a long tour of Europe, Roanoke, Virginia played host to the final RAW before Survivor Series. The Authority established their dominance to open the show, telling the world that they wouldn't let the inmates run the asylum. And in their constant pursuit of the recruitment of Ryback, "The Big Guy," as he calls himself, kept his stance that he's on Team Ryback. A huge contract signing was announced for the main event. Also on this night, Bray Wyatt claimed that he was the savior for Dean Ambrose, but Ambrose had other thoughts by chasing Wyatt off. Oh yeah, and a lot of matches added firepower to Survivor Series.
Matches
Luke Harper vs. Dolph Ziggler:- Intercontinental Championship:- Jamie Noble and Joey Mercury assault Ziggler before the match can begin. Luke Harper hits Ziggler with a big boot and a sit-down powerbomb, but can't put Ziggler away. Ziggler is able to fight back, but the initial assault from the stooges proved too much as a disqus clothesline did Ziggler in and we have a new champion.
Winner and NEW Intercontinental Champion:- Luke Harper
After the match, Rollins hit a curb stomp on Ziggler
Tyson Kidd vs. Adam Rose:- A very quick match was almost all Tyson Kidd. Rose showed a little bit of life with a spinebuster, but that damn bunny got in the way again. Rose was asking for the Bunny's help while being trapped in a sharpshooter. The Bunny ignored the demand and Rose tapped out.
Winner:- Tyson Kidd
After the match, The Bunny dry humps Adam Rose from behind. I wish I was joking.
Ryback vs. Cesaro:- In a rematch from SmackDown, Cesaro tried getting an upperhand on "The Big Guy" early. Much like his Swiss background would indicate, Cesaro kept Ryback neutralized for a decent portion of the match with sleepers, slams and uppercuts. However, Ryback proved to be too strong once again as Cesaro falls after suffering the effects of a meathook clothesline and a shellshock.
Winner:- Ryback
Rusev w/Lana vs. Heath Slater:- After an entertaining promo from Lana, Slater, in new gear and music came down to the ring, talking tough to Rusev. It was all for naught as Rusev quickly disposed of Slater with a super kick and the accolade.
Winner:- Rusev
Big Show vs. Sheamus:- This match was to decide who gets a shot at the WWE World Heavyweight championship. The match had a slow pace, up until Sheamus provided a few interesting moments, kicking out of a devastating chokeslam and even an electric chair. With both men down, Rusev and Mark Henry came out to decimate both men. Rusev locked the accolade on Big Show, while Henry put Sheamus through the announce table.
Draw
Brie Bella vs Nikki Bella:- Brie was dressed as AJ under the orders of Nikki. AJ made her way down to ringside and did the commentary, right up until Nikki went for the kill. With Brie set up for a rack attack, AJ distracted Nikki, allowing Brie to roll up Nikki for the win.
Winner:- Brie Bella
After the match, AJ takes out both Bellas with a shining wizard and a DDT, respectively.
The Usos vs Los Matadores w/El Torito vs. Gold & Stardust vs. The Miz & Damien MizDow:- A rather lengthy match as all 4 teams saw substantial time in the match. Through the 15 minute life of the match, there was no specific flow, just a lot of moves from a lot of superstars. Stardust got the victory with Dark Matter.
Winners:- Gold & Stardust
Contract Signing:- The entire Authority was out first, Triple H said that this is their life and that The Authority will do everything to ensure it is still alive and well following Survivor Series. After making their point, Stephanie introduces John Cena, who walks out alone with his team decimated. Cena says that The Authority will lose, even if he needs 4 audiences members, at which point he goes around the crowd and asks who wants to be on his team. After Stephanie slapped Cena, it was go time, but with no partners, it seemed dire. Out first was Dolph Ziggler, then Big Show, then the biggest surprise, Erick Rowan came out to a nice ovation, ready to get it on with Luke Harper. Cesaro was out to be the 5th member, but it turned out to be a joke. Ryback finally makes his way out to be the 5th man for the team and both sides brawl. RAW goes off the air with Team Cena standing tall and Triple H motionless, having been AA'ed through a table by Cena.
